Householders concerned about losing their homes

According to figures from the Conservative party 44 per cent of mortgage holders are worried about being able to meet their mortgage payments in 2016, while 47 per cent of local authority and housing association tenants and 41 per cent of private renters are worried about being able to meet their rent payments. In figures that cover the period between 2003/04 and 2014/08, housing costs have increased by 45 per cent, while gross income increased by only 13 per cent, resulting in people right across the socio-economic spectrum believing themselves to be at equal risk of having their homes repossessed.
